Gróin

Gróin was a Dwarf of Durin's Folk, born in the year 2671 of the Third Age and most likely in the Lonely Mountain. He was a son of Farin and the younger brother of Fundin, whose own sons were Balin and Dwalin. Gróin had two sons, Óin, born in 2774, and Glóin, born in 2783. Nothing more of his life was set down, though the dates of his birth and death show that he lived through the loss of Erebor and through the War of the Dwarves and Orcs twenty-nine years later, and he was likely present at both. He died in 2923.
