Grey Company

The Grey Company is a band of thirty-one Rangers of the North, Dúnedain of the old northern line, who ride south in the last days of the Third Age. Halbarad leads them, and with them come Elladan and Elrohir, the twin sons of Elrond. They set out at Galadriel's word to find Aragorn, and they bring him counsel from Elrond, his horse Roheryn, and a standard still furled that Arwen has made for him. Their horses are strong and proud and rough-haired from hard travel. They ride in grey cloaks and carry no device of any kind, save that each of them wears a silver star on the brooch at his throat.
