Glóin
Glóin is a Dwarf of Durin's Folk in The Hobbit, son of Gróin and brother of Óin, and one of the thirteen who set out with Thorin Oakenshield for the Lonely Mountain.
Glóin is a Dwarf of Durin's Folk and one of the thirteen who set out with Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit to reclaim the Lonely Mountain. He is the son of Gróin and the younger brother of Óin, born in the year 2783 of the Third Age, after the dragon had driven his people out of Erebor, and he grows up in exile. At sixteen he is at the great battle in the dale of Azanulbizar. In the Blue Mountains a son is born to him, Gimli. On the road with Thorin's company he is handy with a tinderbox, and he and Óin are the two usually told off to get a fire going in camp.
