Galadriel
Galadriel is the Lady of Lórien, who dwells with the Lord Celeborn in the tree city of Caras Galadhon, tall and golden-haired, unmarked by age except perhaps in eyes that seem to hold deep memory.
When the Company climbs to her high hall, Galadriel says nothing at first, then holds each traveller in a long searching gaze that only Legolas and Aragorn can endure. Boromir distrusts her, but Aragorn insists there is no evil in her or in her land. In a green hollow below the hill she fills a silver basin with water, her Mirror, and lets Sam and Frodo look in, warning that not all it shows has come to pass.
