Fingon

Fingon is a Noldorin Elf of the First Age, eldest son of Fingolfin. He is born in Aman, most likely in Tirion where the house of Finwë dwells, and The Silmarillion names him the Valiant. His courage is described as a fire that is nonetheless steady as stone; he is wise, skilled with voice and hand, fond of good faith and fair dealing, and kindly toward Elves and Men alike, reserving his hatred for Morgoth. He goes east with his father's people rather than for any share in the Silmarils. In Middle-earth his father gives him the rule of Dor-lómin, in the western part of Hithlum, and he counts Maedhros, eldest of the sons of Fëanor, his friend.
