Fangorn Forest
Fangorn Forest was a forest beneath the southeastern Misty Mountains.
Out of Fangorn Forest run two rivers, the Entwash and the Limlight. The Entwash spreads through many mouths into the Wetwang, a broad region of sluggish fen, while the Limlight runs down to the Great River and marks the northern boundary of Rohan.
The forest is spoken of as a strange land and little known. Those bound for Minas Tirith are advised not to follow the Entwash too far upstream, where they risk becoming caught up in the forest. In Minas Tirith, by Boromir's account, its legends sound like old wives' tales, and many lives of men have passed since anyone from that city went to test them. Aragorn names it, with Dunland, as the place the crebain come from, black crows of large size that fly in great regiments.
