Elros

Elros is one of the Half-elven, son of Eärendil the Mariner and Elwing and brother of Elrond. The two are brought up by Maglor, son of Fëanor, who raises them with love. Of the brothers, Elros is numbered among Men and Elrond among the Elves, though Elros keeps a close friendship with the Elven kindred that is half his own. He is the first King of Númenor, the island raised out of the sea by Ossë, given form by Aulë and made rich by Yavanna, which the Valar named Andor, the Land of Gift, and its own people called Westernesse. At the age of ninety Elros takes the throne in the city of Armenelos under the name Tar-Minyatur. Three heirlooms are kept in his tower: the sword Aranrúth, the Ring of Barahir and the axe of Tuor.
