Elrond was a mighty ruler who dwelt in Middle-earth.
Elrond makes his home in the Last Homely House, hidden in a fair valley beyond the edge of the Wild, on the western side of the Mountains. He is an elf-friend, as noble and fair of face as an elf-lord, with a warrior's strength and a wizard's wisdom. Finding the house is not easy. The land before it climbs in one long slope of heather and crumbling rock toward the nearest mountain, and narrow valleys with deep sides open suddenly underfoot.
