The Eastfold is the part of Rohan lying beyond the White Mountains, tall grassland under a temperate climate. Its chief settlement is Aldburg, a fortified town and the realm's original capital, and the Lords of Aldburg held the Eastfold from there, the line running from Éofor down to Éomund. The Great West Road crosses the region on its way from Isengard through Gondor and south into Harad.
