Eärnur is the thirty-third King of Gondor in the appendices to The Lord of the Rings, son of Eärnil II.
Eärnur is the thirty-third King of Gondor, son of Eärnil II, whom he follows to the throne in the year 2043 of the Third Age. He is a soldier before he is a king: his best-known feat of arms comes at the Battle of Fornost in 1975, when the power of Angmar is broken in the north. The appendices judge that he did not inherit his father's wisdom. His pleasure is in battle and he takes no wife.
