Fourth of the Kings of Durin's Folk to bear the name, and lord of Khazad-dum in the late Second Age. Many of his people held him to be Durin the Deathless come back among them, so closely did he resemble the first Durin in look and in manner. For much of his life he was a prince rather than a king: son of Durin III, husband of Disa, father of two, and readier than his father to deal with anyone outside the mountain.
