A King of Durin's Folk between the late First Age and the early Second.
Durin II was a King of Durin's Folk who ruled between the late First Age and the early Second Age. Many Dwarves held that he was Durin I come back again, since he resembled the elder king closely in bearing and in looks. He turns up briefly in adaptation as well, in a flashback, ruling Gundabad in the early Second Age and inviting the Zhelruka dwarves to settle there after their own hall was destroyed at the end of the First Age. Those refugees never arrived, losing their way in the Ered Mithrin.
