Dor-lómin

Dor-lómin is a country in the south-western part of Hithlum in the First Age. The Mountains of Mithrim rise on its eastern side, and to the north runs the river of the Rainbow Cleft, called Annon-in-Gelydh, the Gate of the Noldor; in the south there is a mountain pass hidden from the Enemy. The Noldor settle it when they come back to Middle-earth, and it is held as a lordship by Fingon until Fingolfin gives it in the year 416 of the First Age to Hador. From then it is the fief of the Third House of the Edain, who flourish there and are strengthened by folk of the First House coming out of Dorthonion. Húrin's house stands in the south-western corner of the land, near the mountain Amon Darthir where the river Nen Lalaith rises, and his son Túrin is born there.
