In southern Ossiriand about the river Adurant lay Dor Gyrth i chuinar, a green country surrounding the isle of Tol Galen, named by the Eldar in honour of the two who dwelt there in the First Age.
A green country in southern Ossiriand, Dor Gyrth i chuinar lay about the river Adurant east of the Gelion, surrounding the isle of Tol Galen. Originally it was part of the lands wandered by the Nandor Elves, whose sparse and hidden folk settled Ossiriand after the death of their lord Denethor in the First Battle of Beleriand. In later years the Eldar gave the region its name in honour of the two who came to dwell there, and under their presence the land grew fair beyond any other east of the Sea.
