Dol Amroth

Dol Amroth is a princedom of Gondor on the coast of Belfalas, built on a promontory that runs out into the southern sea, with the tower of Tirith Aear standing inside its walls. Its lord holds the title Prince of Dol Amroth, and the silver Swan of his house is flown beside the White Tree of the kingdom. Elves settled the coast first, Sindar out of Beleriand who made the haven of Edhellond some fifty miles north of the headland; a Númenórean family of the Faithful came after them and was granted the fief of Belfalas by Elendil, and it is their stronghold that crowns the rock. The people of the region are tall, dark-haired and grey-eyed, they are reckoned the best harpers in Gondor, and they are among the few of that realm who still speak Sindarin as a matter of course.
