Crown of Gondor

The Crown of Gondor, called also the Silver Crown, was worn by the Kings of Gondor. It took the shape of the helms worn by the Guards of the Citadel, though taller than those and white all over, and at either side rose wings of pearl and silver made in the likeness of a sea-bird's, since the kings of Gondor were those who came over the Sea. Seven gems of adamant were set about its circlet, and one jewel stood at its summit whose light went up like a flame. The first crown of Gondor had been the battle-helmet of Isildur, which served from the beginning of the Third Age until the reign of Atanatar II the Glorious, who had a new one made of silver and jewels.
