Cirion

Cirion is the twelfth Ruling Steward of Gondor, born in the year 2449 of the Third Age and son of Boromir, the eleventh Steward, whose place he takes in 2489. His stewardship falls in a time when the realm is stretched thin. In 2509 the Balchoth gather east of Anduin for an assault on Gondor; Cirion repairs the forts that guard the crossings at the Undeeps, but he has few men to spare for that quarter, and in his need he sends riders far to the north, to the Éothéod, an old friend-people now living in the Vales of Anduin. Only one of them, Borondir, comes through, and he brings the message to Eorl the Young at Framsburg.
