The Elf who commanded the guards of Thranduil's halls in northern Mirkwood, counted among the many attendants about the Elvenking. Tolkien gives him no name. Peter Jackson's films call him Elros, style him Keeper of the Keys and cast Robin Kerr in the part, while earlier radio versions credited him simply as the Elf Guard and as the Elven commander. The keys to the cells beneath the king's house were his to carry.
