Celeborn
Celeborn is the tall, white-clad Elf lord with long, bright silver hair who, beside the Lady Galadriel, welcomes the Company to Caras Galadhon, the city of the Galadhrim.
He greets each companion by name and tells Aragorn that thirty-eight years have gone by in the world outside since his last visit. Hearing that Gandalf has fallen, he calls it the most evil news spoken there in long years, and says he would have barred them from his northern borders had he known the Dwarves had woken that terror in Moria. He soon asks Gimli to forget his harsh words, promises aid, above all to the hobbit who bears the burden, and sends the weary travellers to rest.
