Blue Wizards
The Blue Wizards, or Ithryn Luin, are the two Istari who went into the east of Middle-earth and out of the tales told in the north.
Five wizards came into Middle-earth out of the West, and only three of them figure in the tales told in the north: Saruman, Gandalf and Radagast. The other two went east, and there the record stops. They are the Ithryn Luin, the Blue Wizards, named for the sea-blue robes they both wore, and one account gives their names as Alatar and Pallando. Alatar was a Maia of Oromë chosen for the errand, and Pallando the friend he asked to come with him. Their work lay in the east and the south, against Sauron's strength in countries nobody in Gondor or the Shire has ever seen. Even the date they arrived is disputed, by more than a thousand years.
