Edoras, the seat of the Kings of the Mark, is a hall on a green hill with no walls worth the name around it. In the twenty-eighth century of the Third Age it changed hands. Wulf of the Dunlendings, at the head of an alliance that reached as far as Umbar, took the town while Rohan's strength was scattered, and the Long Winter came down on top of the occupation.
