Bandobras Took, called the Bullroarer, stood four feet five and could ride a horse.
Bandobras Took stood four feet five inches, which for a hobbit is remarkable, and he could ride a horse, which for a hobbit is close to unheard of. He was born in 2704, second son of the Thain Isumbras III, and the Shire knew him as the Bullroarer. In 2747 he led the hobbits of the Northfarthing against a band of goblins out of Mount Gram who had come down into the Shire, and he went at their ranks on horseback with a wooden club in his hand. No taller hobbit appears in the Shire's records for a very long time after him, and the North-tooks of Long Cleeve are his descendants.
