Baldor

Baldor, called the Hapless, was the eldest son of Brego, second Lord of the Mark, and the elder brother of Aldor, who became the third. Rohan remembers him for a single evening. At the feast Brego held to hallow the newly built hall of Meduseld, Baldor drained the horn and swore that he would tread the Paths of the Dead, going in by the Dark Door under the Dwimorberg. Théoden, telling the story long afterwards, called it a rash vow.
