Atanalcar

Atanalcar was the youngest child and third son of Elros Tar-Minyatur, first King of Númenor. He was born some time after the year 61 of the Second Age, last of four: Vardamir Nólimon, whose own reign was short, Tindómiel and Manwendil all came before him. Nothing else survives of his life beyond the possibility that he married and had children. In The Nature of Middle-earth Tolkien can be watched weighing whether the children of Elros ought to be Half-elven like the children of Elrond, with the same choice of mortality before them, though how far he carried the thought is not clear.
