Arwen is the daughter of Elrond, a dark-haired lady seated under a canopy at her father's table in Rivendell, named Undómiel as the Evenstar of her people.
It is said that in her the likeness of Lúthien has come into the world again. She has spent long years in Lórien, across the mountains among her mother's people, and has only lately come home to her father's house. Late in the evening in the Hall of Fire, Frodo sees her speaking with Aragorn, and it seems to him that her shining gaze turns his way across the hall and goes straight to his heart.
