Anárion

Anárion is the younger son of Elendil, born in Númenor in the year 3219 of the Second Age. He and his elder brother Isildur grow up at the haven of Rómenna on the island's east coast, in a house of the Faithful: their father is Elendil son of Amandil, Lord of Andúnië. When the Faithful make ready to leave Númenor they load nine ships with their treasures, two of them Anárion's, and among what they carry are the palantíri. The ships come to Middle-earth, Elendil to the northern shores and his two sons to the Mouths of Anduin. There, in the year 3320, Isildur and Anárion found the southern kingdom of Gondor and rule it together while their father reigns in the north. Anárion makes his seat at Minas Anor on the west bank of the river and Isildur at Minas Ithil on the east, with Osgiliath between them as their shared capital.
