Amaranth Brandybuck
Born in 1304 by Shire Reckoning to Gorbadoc Brandybuck and Mirabella Took, Amaranth was a hobbit of the Shire whose sister Primula was the mother of Frodo Baggins.
Amaranth Brandybuck was a hobbit of the Shire, born in 1304 by Shire Reckoning to Gorbadoc Brandybuck and Mirabella Took. Her elder brother Rory was grandfather to Meriadoc, and among her five younger brothers and sisters was Primula, the mother of Frodo Baggins; the others were Saradas, Dodinas, Asphodel and Dinodas. She died in 1398. Her name is a poetic word for a flower that never withers, and in the ordinary world it belongs to a family of sixty or seventy plants grown for food and for gardens, a few of which are counted weeds.
