Adalgrim Took

Adalgrim Took was a Hobbit of the Shire and the grandfather of both Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took. He was the son of Hildigrim Took and Rosa Baggins, and a cousin of Bilbo Baggins, though he did not attend Bilbo's birthday party in TA 3001. He had five children, four daughters and a son: the youngest of the daughters was Esmeralda, who married into the Brandybucks and became Meriadoc's mother, and the son was Paladin, who became Thain in TA 3015 on the death of his cousin Ferumbras III. Adalgrim himself never held the Thainship. He died in TA 2982.
