They are low-ranked dream demons who feed on men's vitality by supplying erotic dreams, appearing as beautiful women, usually mature and voluptuous, with bat wings and arrow-tipped tails they can hide in order to pass for human. Because men are their food source, succubi rank among the least dangerous monsters in practice; their instinct is commerce rather than predation, and they prefer to sell their services in exchange for vitality and protection. The wider family includes the incubus, a gothic-dressed male counterpart who feeds on women's vitality instead. Only the rare succubus queen, made by a drop of blood and a magical candle, reaches power enough to destroy a city.
