Nightmares are low-ranked dream demons of the KonoSuba world.
The bestiary of KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! sorts its horrors by rank, and the nightmare sits near the bottom of the demonic ladder. A nightmare is a dream demon that takes the shape of a pitch-black stallion. Rather than attacking travelers on the road, the creature does its work while its victims sleep: it plants bad dreams in their minds and feasts on the dark emotions those dreams stir up. In a world where adventurers post quests for everything from giant toads to far stranger prey, low-ranked demons of this kind form a recognized class of monster, dangerous less for claws or fangs than for what they do to a sleeping mind.
