Mandrake

Herbalists and alchemists in KonoSuba prize a monster that most adventurers would rather never hear. Mandrakes are plant monsters shaped like brownish humanoid roots with faces, wearing their leaf tufts like hair, and they are a staple ingredient of potion-brewing thanks to the sheer vitality stored in their bodies. That value comes with two hazards. Eaten raw and unprocessed, a mandrake robs the consumer of their senses, sending them running aimlessly and attacking whoever is nearby; and when one is pulled from the ground it lets out a scream capable of killing outright. The species runs to novelty variants, including poison mandrakes, flower-crowned specimens, gleaming clean ones, and a sombrero-wearing sun mandrake that shakes maracas in the Temple of Everlasting Summer.
