Behind the adventurers, monsters, and church politics of KonoSuba stands a working divine bureaucracy. Gods are a race dwelling in Heaven who watch over the living world from the Afterlife, judge where the dead go next, and each preside over a particular domain and territory; the goddess Eris holds jurisdiction over the Parallel World itself, while Aqua's assigned charge is Japan. Goddesses are known for extreme beauty and a noble aura, though individual gods vary widely in conduct. Gods hold an ancient grudge against the demons of Hell, and they regard the undead with open scorn as creatures that defied divine law to stay alive. Recognized classifications include dark gods with demonic followings, minor gods with tiny congregations, and the winged angels who carry the gods' blood.
