Darkness is the crusader of Kazuma's party in KonoSuba, a beautiful armored front-liner whose swings rarely connect and whose zeal for shielding her companions is fed by frank masochism.
Among the founding party members of KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! stands Darkness, a crusader who attaches herself to Kazuma Satou's group soon after it forms in the beginner town of Axel. On paper she is the party's shield: a tall, blonde, strikingly beautiful swordswoman in full armor who insists on taking the front line. In practice her sword swings almost never land, and her eagerness to stand between her companions and danger owes less to duty than to her open masochism, since being battered, insulted, and humiliated is precisely what she hopes to get out of adventuring. She daydreams aloud about capture and torment at the hands of the Devil King's Army, unnerving the very monsters she faces. A devout follower of the Eris Church, she still tries, between fantasies, to carry herself as a model crusader.
