Axel, the Town of Beginners, lies farther from the Devil King's territory than any other settlement in the Kingdom of Belzerg, and its countryside crawls with conveniently weak monsters such as giant toads and lovely rabbits, making it the sanctioned nursery where rookie adventurers grind their first levels. Reincarnated Japanese who accept a fresh start in this world arrive at its gate, which a single guard is considered sufficient to watch. The town is so calm that children wander out freely and nobody pays for herb-gathering quests, though dormant terrors sleep in the vicinity and migrating cabbages pass through its fields in season. The local Adventurer Guild hall serves as the center of civic life.
