A tribute tube is the glass cylinder that carries a tribute up into the arena. Underneath the arena, in the catacombs, each tribute has a Launch Room where a stylist dresses them in the uniform issued for that year's Games and then waits there with them. A pleasant recorded voice announces when it is time to prepare to launch. The tribute steps onto a metal plate, the glass comes down around them to hold them in place, and the plate lifts them up into whatever the Gamemakers have built.
