Thresh is the male tribute from District 11 in the 74th Hunger Games in The Hunger Games, and the largest competitor in that year's field. Katniss Everdeen calls him a physical wonder and reckons he is exactly where a sponsor's money belongs; even the Careers give him room. Like his district partner Rue, he has dark skin, and Katniss describes his eyes as a strange golden brown. He keeps to himself and pointedly refuses to join the Career pack, and District 11's fields have given him a working knowledge of plants that most tributes lack.
