Primrose Everdeen, known as Prim, is Katniss's little sister, and hers is the name drawn at the reaping.
Named for the primrose, she shares her mother's light hair and blue eyes, which set them apart from the dark-haired mining families of the Seam. On reaping morning she is curled up in her mother's bed, after bad dreams by Katniss's guess, leaves a small goat cheese wrapped in basil as a gift, and wears Katniss's old reaping skirt and blouse, pinned to fit. Katniss thinks of her as the one person she is sure she loves.
