Lysistrata Vickers

Lysistrata Vickers, called Lyssie by her classmates, is a senior at the Capitol's Academy in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and one of the twenty-four students chosen to mentor a tribute in the 10th Hunger Games. She is assigned Jessup Diggs of District 12. She is small, neat, and self-contained, with carefully braided hair, evenly filed nails, and smooth brown skin, and Coriolanus Snow, who admires the quality, describes her as efficient and reluctant to draw attention to herself. She is also one of the few mentors uneasy about the Games themselves, wondering aloud whether the districts have not been punished enough already. Rather than push Jessup as a lone fighter, she works to build sympathy for him and Lucy Gray Baird together.
