Jessup Diggs is the male tribute from District 12 in the 10th Hunger Games in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. He was already working the mines before his name was called by Mayor Lipp, and he is strong enough to lift a grown woman over his head, which is exactly what he does at the interviews to prove the point. He allies with his district partner, Lucy Gray Baird, and looks out for her from the moment the two of them are loaded onto the train. His mentor is the Academy student Lysistrata Vickers, who works harder than most mentors at getting to know him.
