Healer
Doctors are past what most district families can pay, so the apothecaries do the work instead.
In the districts of Panem almost nobody can afford a doctor, so the apothecaries are the healers. In District 12 that work means the injuries the mines produce, the burns and the coughs and the fevers, treated with remedies gathered and prepared at home rather than with anything the Capitol supplies. A healer has to stay calm and has to be willing to do whatever it takes to keep a patient alive, and the trade is usually learned by a child standing at a parent's elbow and handing things across. Most of what a healer knows is written down nowhere; it is carried in the head and handed on the same way.
