Gloss is a victor from District 1 who volunteered for the 63rd Hunger Games and won it, and one of District 1's tributes in the third Quarter Quell in Catching Fire. His younger sister Cashmere won the following year, and the two of them are reaped for the Quell together. At the interviews he thanks the people of Panem for the kindness shown to him and his sister.
