Coriolanus Snow looks over the field for the 10th Hunger Games and marks District 1's boy down as someone who could be a strong contender. Facet has lived in District 1 since the failed rebellion of the Dark Days and possibly before it, and he was reaped there along with Velvereen. He rides to the Capitol in a cattle car and is turned out with the rest into the monkey house at the zoo. Livia Cardew, a student at the Academy, is the mentor assigned to him.
