Elias Haan
A District 7 lumberjack chosen as one of the Capitol's District Heroes.
Elias Haan is a lumberjack in District 7, where the timber and the paper of Panem come from. The Capitol named him one of its District Heroes, a set of portraits of model citizens drawn from across the districts, and the case made for him is that he believes in his district's respect for the greater forces of nature. He has kept the axe handed down to him by his great-grandfather as a reminder of what he and District 7 have come through. He is heavily tattooed and has lost one leg below the knee; in his portrait the carved wooden prosthesis is set aside.
