Coral is the female tribute from District 4 in the 10th Hunger Games in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and one of the stronger competitors in that year's field. She grew up in District 4 and was brought to the Capitol in a cattle car with the rest of the tributes, then housed in the monkey house at the Capitol Zoo. Her mentor is Festus Creed, one of the Academy students assigned to the Games. At the interviews she takes an old broomstick and handles it like a trident, which leaves nobody in any doubt about what she can do with a real one. When Festus says goodbye to her before the Games, she takes his hand and nearly breaks his wrist.
