Bonnie is a girl from District 8 who flees the uprising there with her teacher Twill, dressed in a Peacekeeper uniform she stole from the factory where she works.
Bonnie is pale and malnourished, with crooked teeth and a strawberry birthmark over one brown eye, and she limps on a branch crutch after twisting an ankle in boots too big for her. Her whole family dies when the building where she works explodes. Katniss finds the pair sheltering in the woods outside District 12, feeds them and teaches Twill to hunt, while they cling to the hope that District 13 survives.
