Augustus Braun won the 67th Hunger Games for District 1. The Capitol took to him: he was sold as Panem's Favorite Son and packaged as the Cavalier Career, and by his Victory Tour the unkempt fighter from the arena had been redressed as a bright, patriotic figure the city could point at. District 1's victors go on training after they win, so it is likely he never really stopped.
