An arena is a large, enclosed, outdoor area where the Hunger Games were held each year.
Inside the arena, twenty-four tributes, one girl and one boy from each of the twelve districts, are imprisoned together and must fight to the death over several weeks until only one of them is left standing. Each tribute may wear one thing from their district into the arena, a single token to remind them of home.
