The Weird Sisters are a very famous musical group of the wizarding world, and their music keeps the dancers in the Great Hall on their feet until midnight.
Dumbledore books them for the Yule Ball, to the wild excitement of students raised on the wizard wireless, though Harry has never heard of them. On the night they troop onto a platform he conjures, every one of them extremely hairy and in black robes ripped on purpose, and their instruments include drums, bagpipes, a cello, guitars and a lute. They open the dancing with a slow, mournful tune and play on until midnight.
