Vincent Crabbe is a big Slytherin boy who trails Draco Malfoy around the castle, sniggering at Harry in Potions and cracking his knuckles at him over a meal.
He and Goyle first appear on the train, standing on either side of Malfoy like bodyguards, thickset and mean-looking, and Malfoy points out that they have eaten all their own food while Harry and Ron still have some. When Scabbers sinks his teeth into Goyle's knuckle, Crabbe backs away with Malfoy and all three disappear. At the Sorting, Malfoy goes to join him and Goyle at their table.
