Bulgaria's Seeker while still a Durmstrang student, Viktor Krum stars in the World Cup final of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, then visits Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament.
Viktor Krum is the teenage Seeker of the Bulgarian national Quidditch side, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire opens Harry's fourth year with the sight of him flying in the final of the Quidditch World Cup. Still a student at Durmstrang Institute, Krum is already spoken of as the finest Seeker in the world, and the final shows why: hunched and duck-footed on the ground, he is another creature altogether in the air, and he ends the match on his own terms by catching the Snitch even with his side too far behind to win. Surly-looking, heavy-browed, and mobbed wherever he lands, he arrives at Hogwarts that autumn with the Durmstrang delegation when the school hosts the revived Triwizard Tournament, trailed by a fan club he plainly wishes he did not have.
